Basic Principles

Markets anticipate. Price is a forecast. Changes in price reflect changes in forecasts. While the future is unknowable, markets are extraordinary at recognizing change.

Only the "tails" matter. A relatively small number of companies undergo important change at any given time (the "extremes"). Most companies fall in the "middle" and can be safely ignored.

Most news is irrelevant. The bulk of news relates to companies "in the middle" and is of little significance.

Operational performance drives investment performance. To outperform peers and competitors in the equity market, a firm must outperform them operationally.

Stock market valuations are understandable and rational. Stocks selling at seemingly high (or low) valuations reflect optimistic (or pessimistic) forecasts.

Key Features

Fully Customizable. Focus only on forecasts and company groups that are meaningful to your company -- peers, business unit competitors, others of business interest.

"Early-Warning" System. Important business trends and emerging Leader and Laggard companies are flagged and monitored.

Warranted Shareholder Value Framework. CFROI -- an actionable, theoretically respected valuation framework is used to "explain" past stock price behavior and to develop price targets based on current investor expectations.

Custom Performance Benchmarks. Constantly updated analyses of company performance relative to specific comparison groups. Analyses include operating performance parameters, key drivers of shareholder value, and relative wealth creation.
